Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (Full & Part Time)

We are looking for a Lecturer in Engineering to join our Mechanical Engineering department. The role will involve delivering and assessing practical engineering qualifications with a focus on workshop learning. Both full and part time opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess practical engineering programmes, including workshop-based sessions.
• Support learners in achieving academic success and developing industry ready skills.
• Teach Level 1-3 Engineering programmes.
• Plan teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring effective learning outcomes.
• Deliver consistently high quality teaching to achieve strong success rates.
• Assess learners' work accurately against awarding body criteria.
• Comply with college quality assurance procedures and audits.
• Liaise with external agencies, validating bodies, employers and placement providers.
• Prepare appropriate teaching, learning and assessment materials.
• Maintain up to date syllabus and scheme of work for each course.
• Manage course responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Practical industry experience with lathes, milling machines and CNC equipment.
• A Maths qualification equivalent to Level 3 is desirable.
• An Assessors award is desirable.
