About the OpportunityWe are looking for an innovative and professional individual with experience of creating high quality digital learning materials to enhance student learning. You will be highly motivated and committed to creating an excellent teaching and learning environment. You will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate provisions and report to a Senior Lecturer.
- Deliver engaging and dynamic workshops face to face and online for campus based and distance learning students.
- Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
- Design excellent digital teaching material for undergraduate and postgraduate study ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
- Manage own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support and guidance as needed.
- Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
- Actively contribute to department level activity.
Note: Our LLM programme is taught online at weekends; there are eight weekends a year for LLM delivery.
About YouEssential Skills / Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in English Law.
- Knowledge of the LLB curriculum, including foundations of legal knowledge and at least two other modules, including those linked to the SQE curriculum.
- AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willing to achieve within 12-18 months.
- Experience of current and effective teaching, learning and assessment practices in higher education.
- Experience in supervision or training of junior legal staff (in the absence of formal teaching experience). Applicants who are recent practitioners are given preference.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- PhD in Law or substantial legal practice experience.
- FHEA or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience supporting clinical legal education.
- Interest in commercially oriented modules.
