The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking a committed, adaptable individual to join our experienced team as a 1.0 FTE Lecturer. This is a full-time, permanent post (35 hours per week) in the Department/School: Computer Science & Engineering 1.
Responsibilities- Teach face-to-face and online at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on Cybersecurity (subject areas may vary).
- Set assessments, mark work, and provide constructive feedback.
- Supervise final year and postgraduate projects and act as a personal tutor to provide pastoral support to students.
- Support students in competitions, work-based learning, and other enterprise opportunities.
- Contribute to School strategic subject-based, professional or pedagogic research and development; support teaching through scholarly activity.
- Contribute to one or more of the School's multidisciplinary Research Groups as appropriate.
- Proficiency in major programming languages and a good understanding of software development principles.
- Ability to teach from level 3 to level 7.
- Practical experience in cybersecurity and forensics technical skills (e.g., network security, penetration testing, defensive programming, data extraction and analysis).
- PhD in Cybersecurity-related areas or equivalent industry experience is particularly welcomed.
As part of the role, you will be expected to support students in competitions, work-based learning, and other enterprise opportunities, and to contribute to the School's strategic objectives through teaching and research activities. Staff are encouraged to develop their external research profile and participate in the School's multidisciplinary Research Groups.
