As a Lecturer of Engineering (CNC and Workshop) atEKC Dover College, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching, training, and assessment across a range of learning environments. You'll play a key role in guiding learners to reach their full potential, while leading on designated study programmes and ensuring the effective design, delivery, and evaluation of courses.

We welcome both experienced educators and industry professionals ready to take the leap into teaching. Through our Teacher Academy ,you'll receive personalised training, digital skills support, and coaching to develop your teaching career.

In this role, you will:

  • Teach, train, and assess students across a variety of engineering disciplines.

  • Inspire and support learners to achieve their goals and progress into further study or employment.

  • Lead on designated programmes, taking responsibility for curriculum design and evaluation.

  • Bring your industry knowledge to life in the classroom, making learning relevant and inspiring.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the highest standards of learning.

About You

You will bring organisation, creativity, and enthusiasm to the role, planning and delivering engaging, innovative lessons that inspire learners to succeed. You'll also assess and track student progress, using this to plan targeted interventions and ensure every student develops the skills they need for their future.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, teach, and assess creative and high-quality lessons across a range of study programmes (Level 1-Level 3).

  • Track and monitor learner progress, implementing interventions where needed to maximise achievement.

  • Motivate and inspire students to reach their full potential.

  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters success for all.

  • Apply strong class management skills to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in teaching or delivering workplace training (desirable, but not essential - full training will be provided).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with learners.

  • A positive, empathetic approach with the drive to support every learner's journey.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work creatively and flexibly.

Additional information:

  • Two salary scale points are available for our Lecturer positions. All candidates start at the introductory point unless certain criteria are met.

  • Lecturers typically move to the higher scale after completing one full academic year with the group (must be in post by 1 September; subject to approval).
