Learning Support Practitioner - Complex Needs School - Rainham September Start

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex additional needs to develop their independence, confidence, and life skills?

We are working with a specialist complex needs school in Rainham that is looking to appoint a caring and dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join their supportive team from September.

This specialist school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, providing a nurturing, inclusive, and personalised learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their individual goals. The school focuses on developing communication, independence, sensory awareness, and essential life skills while ensuring each pupil receives the support they need to thrive.

As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide high quality, individualised support throughout the school day. You will assist pupils with their learning, communication, sensory activities, personal care, and mobility needs, helping to create a safe and engaging environment where every pupil can make progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs, Autism, SLD, PMLD, or physical/sensory needs
  • Be caring, patient, and compassionate
  • Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
  • Have a genuine passion for helping young people develop independence and confidence
  • Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
