Our client, a well-established and inclusive school in Derby, Derbyshire, is currently seeking a Full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, providing individualised support to students with various learning needs. Your role will be instrumental in helping these students achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children and a strong desire to contribute to their growth and development. You will be patient, empathetic, and possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents.
Key responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN
- Assisting in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Adapting learning materials and resources to meet the specific needs of each student
- Encouraging student participation and engagement in classroom activities
- Monitoring and recording student progress, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
Our client is committed to providing a supportive and nurturing work environment, where you can grow professionally and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. They offer a competitive salary range of £89 to £100 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (desirable)
- A genuine passion for supporting and nurturing young learners
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
