Job Description
Overview

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, primarily in Years 7 and 8, both within the classroom and through small group interventions. The role includes supporting pupils with special educational needs in the classroom and in small groups. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Pupil Progress (SENDCo), teaching staff, senior leadership team, and external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with special educational needs in Years 7 and 8, both in the classroom and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Pupil Progress (SENDCo), teaching staff, senior leadership, and external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.
  • Work with the SEND team to support pupils with SEND, helping them access learning, build confidence and independence, and complete tasks in lessons.
  • Deliver targeted group interventions or provide individual support as required to assist with assessments or learning tasks.
  • Work with classroom teachers to support pupils in completing specific tasks and developing confidence and independence.
  • Support a culture of resilient, confident, and happy learners aligned with the department's aims.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment by coordinating with staff across the school to support pupils with SEND.
