Our client, a reputable educational institution in Gosport, Hampshire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and assistance to thrive in their academic journey.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualised support to students who may face challenges in their learning due to cognitive, physical, or emotional difficulties. You will adapt learning materials and resources to cater to each student's unique needs, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be interacting with students, parents, and colleagues on a daily basis. You should have a patient and empathetic approach, as well as the ability to build positive relationships with students and foster a supportive classroom atmosphere.
In addition to providing direct student support, you will assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, and maintaining accurate records. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and attend relevant meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of learning support.
