Learning Support Assistant - Behaviour Support (Mainstream School)

We are seeking adedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistantto work within amainstream school, supporting pupils who displaychallenging behaviourand require additional emotional and behavioural support to engage positively with learning.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm under pressure, consistent in their approach, and committed to helping pupils develop self-regulation, confidence and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide1:1 and small-group supportfor pupils with challenging behaviour
- Support pupils in managing emotions and behaviour within the classroom environment
- Usepositive behaviour strategiesand de-escalation techniques
- Support pupils to remain engaged in learning and access the curriculum
- Promote asafe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting pupils withchallenging behaviourin a school or similar setting
- Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
- Understanding of behaviour as communication
- Ability to follow behaviour support plans and school policies
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience withSEMH, ADHD or ASD
- Training inde-escalation or behaviour management
- Previous experience in a mainstream school setting
- Competitive daily pay rates (£90 to £95 a day)
