About the RoleA Year 2 Teaching Assistant is responsible for providing 1:1 support to help a Year 2 pupil engage with learning and reach their full potential. The role includes tailored strategies to support emotional regulation, engagement and social development, working closely with teachers, SENCO and external professionals to deliver structured, consistent support. The TA will encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour, and support the child across both classroom activities and outdoor learning, including Forest School sessions.
Pay ranges from (PAYE).
- Provide 1:1 support to help a Year 2 pupil engage with learning and reach their full potential
- Use tailored strategies to support emotional regulation, engagement and social development
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO and external professionals to deliver structured, consistent support
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Support the child across both classroom activities and outdoor learning, including Forest School sessions
- Have experience supporting children with additional needs (preferred but not essential)
- Bring a patient, empathetic and proactive approach
- Have strong teamwork and communication skills
- Be passionate about inclusive education and child development
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
