Lead Systems Engineer

Permanent, £65-£80k, hybrid (3 days per week in London)

We are currently working with a prestigious public sector organisation, who are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to lead their 2nd/3rd line support function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the IT Operations team in managing incidents, changes, and system performance.
• Provide expert technical advice and ensure the smooth operation of a wide range of IT systems, including Azure services, Active Directory, and Microsoft SQL.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your expertise in ITIL principles and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver first-class IT support across the organisation, supporting business continuity and service excellence.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in managing complex IT infrastructures and applications, with strong expertise in Azure, Active Directory, VMware, Microsoft, Linux and O365.
• ITIL certification and a track record of successful change and incident management.
• Experience around Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Asset Management.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and manage competing priorities.
• Strong team leadership skills, with experience mentoring/coaching team members.
