Lead Solution Architect - Data & AI (Banking sector, UK - Hybrid)
We're looking for a Lead Solution Architect to join a forward-thinking bank that's investing heavily in its data and AI future. This is a key role, reporting into the Head of Architecture with a dotted line into the Head of Data. The position represents a chance to shape the bank's next-generation data and AI strategy.
The OpportunityAs Lead Solution Architect, you'll define the roadmap for how the bank manages and remediates data, and how it embraces AI across its business. With the bank building an AI hub (development environments to design and deploy AI agents) and investing in data readiness, you'll be central in turning strategy into delivery.
You'll work alongside strong technical leads in data engineering but bring the architectural direction and stakeholder engagement needed to scale their efforts. Success will mean:
Gaining a deep understanding of the bank's technology estate and people.
Helping shape and refine the ongoing Data & AI strategy.
Supporting deliveries at a high level - scoping, solution design, and guiding lead engineers.
Own solution architecture across data and AI initiatives.
Define and deliver the roadmap for data platforms, remediation, and AI adoption.
Balance technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement - from engineers to non-technical colleagues.
Identify opportunities for SaaS products while also enabling in-house AI product development.
Support product development initiatives that empower colleagues through data and AI solutions.
Proven experience as a Lead/Senior SA in data-heavy environments.
Background in data warehousing, data platforms, and modern cloud-native approaches.
Hands-on knowledge of Azure Services (APIs, Logic Apps, Azure AI Studio).
Ability to engage senior business stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly.
