We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Royal London. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing deep technical expertise to help our teams design, develop, test, implement, and support efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
The successful candidate will have a significant impact on how Royal London develops our applications and will provide a blend of solid leadership experience and technical expertise.
This role focuses on our Protection Application stack and contributes to our purpose of strengthening mutual choice for our customers by providing the best technology solutions.
About the role
- Leads the delivery of complex technical solutions within their area of expertise, managing workload and guiding developers.
- Provides technical advice and guidance to other developers proactively and reactively.
- Ensures all code meets Group standards, guidelines, and quality gates.
- Ensures technical solutions are safely implemented into production without impacting customers.
- Encourages collaboration within the team and with other disciplines.
- Shares knowledge and experiences related to their technical expertise at practice level.
About you
- Experience with Azure Cloud technologies is essential.
- Experience with .NET is essential.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- Deep technical knowledge of one or more programming languages.
- Strong understanding of design principles and patterns.
- Ability to manage own workload and allocate work to others.
- Leadership qualities with a growth mindset to support and mentor team members.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Awareness of agile development practices.
