This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the Assertive Outreach Service as a Band 6 Community Lead professional. The right candidate will be enthusiastic and a highly organised mental health professional who is able to provide high quality care, assessment and treatment.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will provide a comprehensive Community Mental Health Service across a whole range of clients experiencing mental ill health within the Assertive Outreach and Community Rehabilitation pathway. The service will be delivered in collaboration with representative agencies; therefore, the ability to work independently and with partner agencies is essential.
Applicants must demonstrate post-registration experience as an RMN or other qualified staff, which may include inpatient and community settings.
Person Specification Qualifications- Current registration as a level one Mental Health nurse/RMN
- Willingness to undertake additional training relevant to the role
- Evidence of post-registration training and experience
- Non medical Prescriber
- Counselling qualification
- PSI Training
- Demonstrable post registration experience as an RMN
- Professional experience of working in mental health services
- Experience of MDT working
- Skills in coordinating and planning interagency approaches in mental health care
- Experience of assessing and managing risk
- Working with the MHA and MCA
- Experience of working in a community service
- Experience of working with statutory and non statutory agencies
- Experience of working at Band 6 level
- Experience of delivering evidence based treatments
- Ability to use initiative and work without immediate supervision
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework for mental health services, particularly the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and NICE Guidelines
- Empathic approach
- Skills in coordinating and planning interagency approaches in mental health care
- Ability to work as part of a multiprofessional team
- Excellent assessment skills - communication, establishing rapport, gathering pertinent information, probing questions and synthesising mental health knowledge to agree an appropriate outcome and plan

- Understanding of local safeguarding policies and procedures

Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata
