As a Lead Principal Engineer for Timer & Real-Time Control in Microcontrollers on our Research & Development team, you'll have the opportunity to merge creativity with your technical expertise by shaping the future of technology, driving groundbreaking projects, and bringing new ideas to life.Are you in?Your roleKey responsibilities in your new roleBreak down stakeholder and application requirements into architectural Timer requirements and interface specificationsOwn platform-level Timer architecture, the required IP components and their evolution across MCU generationsDefine deterministic timing concepts for real-time control loops (triggering, synchronization, latency/jitter budgets, fault reactions)Drive architectural trade-offs between real-time performance, power, safety, and scalability based on simulations, prototyping and leveraging novel AI methods and toolsEnsure Power-Performance-Area competitiveness for the subsystem across the full product portfolioInterface with Technical Marketing, SoC/IP Design, Verification, and Software teams to ensure coherent system integrationCreate and maintain high-quality architecture documentation and requirement baselinesProactively identify innovation opportunities in Timer and real-time orchestration aligned with platform strategyYour profileQualifications and skills to help you succeedMaster's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Control Engineering, or related field7+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor or automotive MCU/SoC architecture with hands on design experienceStrong expertise in Timer architecture and deterministic real-time system designProven experience translating use-case/system needs into architectural requirements and KPIsSolid understanding of closed-loop control constraints (timing determinism, synchronization, latency/jitter control) ideally paired with simulation know howFamiliarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety concepts in architecture design (is a plus)Team player with openness for innovationStrong communication and stakeholder management skills in international, cross-functional teamsFluent English skills, written and spoken for driving decarbonization and digitalization.As a global leader in semiconductor solutions in power systems and IoT, Infineon enables game-changing solutions for green and efficient energy, clean and safe mobility, as well as smart and secure IoT.
