We are seeking an outstanding and inspiring Lead Practitioner for English (Head of Department) to lead a successful and collaborative department in our welcoming secondary school in Hertfordshire, starting in September 2025.

The ideal candidate for this Lead Practitioner for English role will have a proven record of excellent teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, ideally 5 and demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of teachers. You will bring a clear vision for delivering high-quality English provision and achieving outstanding outcomes for students.

As a Lead Practitioner for English, you will be expected to drive standards through effective curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and quality assurance processes. A passion for developing students' love of literature, language, and expression is essential, along with a commitment to setting high expectations for both staff and students.
