About the Role

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICT Endpoint and Application Lead to join our dynamic ICT Desktop team. This is a vital role responsible for the rollout, maintenance, and support of over 4,500 endpoint devices across the organisation. You will play a key part in ensuring our workforce is equipped with the latest Microsoft operating systems and products, supporting both technical and digital upskilling initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain secure and up-to-date computer operating systems across the authority.
  • Provide technical support for over 500 applications used by authority.
  • Support end users with technical issues and adoption of new technologies.
  • Support high-profile business application upgrades and projects with technical expertise.
  • Lead the maintenance and support of the Microsoft Intune Product family tools.
  • Assess new software for end users, ensuring compliance with corporate and industry governance standards.
  • Assist the Desktop, Applications and Adoption teams with Business As Usual tasks.
Essential Requirements
  • Level 5 qualification (Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent) or relevant experience.
  • At least two years' experience in the Microsoft Intune Product Family (Intune Service, Configuration Manager, Autopilot, Windows Defender)
  • Proven experience in ICT endpoint management and application support.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience to contribute to technically challenging projects with strict time constraints and high delivery standards.
  • Proven experience of Windows Installer file technologies and deployment methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to support a large, diverse user base.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to user support and digital adoption.
