Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in piping and fabrication to lead our CAD team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of piping systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. This role requires active participation in client meetings, effective communication skills, and a clear understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Revit, and AutoCAD (2D & 3D) is essential.
Key Responsibilities: Piping Design and Fabrication:- Develop and implement plans for piping projects, including creating and interpreting piping layout drawings and diagrams.
- Specify the type, size, and layout of pipes required for projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of pipe systems, conducting tests to ensure functionality and safety.
- Lead and coordinate the CAD team in developing technical descriptions, drawings, complex piping plans and layouts, piping isometric sketches, and electronic models for equipment in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure the effective integration of piping systems into overall project designs.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all fabrication processes and designs, providing technical support and guidance to field teams during installation.
- Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address concerns and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Ensure all piping systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures, conducting inspections and tests to verify system integrity and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping design and fabrication engineering.
- Proven track record of leading projects and teams.
- Proficiency in:
- Autodesk Inventor
- Revit
- AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
- Strong understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to piping fabrication and installation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to convey technical information clearly to clients and team members.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities - capable of guiding a CAD team to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Effective problem-solving skills - keen attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
- This position may require both office-based work and on-site supervision, depending on project needs.
- Occasional travel may be necessary to meet with clients or oversee project sites.
