Job Description

We're hiring a Lead Java Developer for an exciting public sector programme involving in Large-scale microservices architecture. You'll play a key role in designing and supporting Java-based systems in an Agile team environment.

Note: Candidate must be SC cleared

Tech Stack:

  • Core: Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Microservices, REST/SOAP
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS (EC2, RDS, SQS, S3, etc.), Docker, Jenkins, Maven
  • Database: PostgreSQL/Aurora
  • Tools: Git, JUnit, Mockito, ActiveMQ, SonarQube
  • Frontend (Bonus): Angular, Bootstrap
  • Methodologies: TDD, Agile (Scrum), CI/CD

Must-Have:

  • Experience supporting live systems & diagnosing incidents
  • Strong background in Spring-based Java projects
  • Hands-on with containerization and cloud environments (AWS)
  • Public sector project experience

Nice to Have:

  • AWS DevOps, Spring Cloud
  • Grafana, Prometheus monitoring
  • Strong stakeholder & risk management
