Main duties of the job

As a Lead Housekeeper at Braeburn House in Salford, you will be responsible for leading a team of housekeepers in cleaning all areas of the service, including wards, office spaces, bedrooms, and visitor areas. You will provide support, guidance, and supervision to the team, monitor recruitment and performance reviews, order materials and equipment, follow infection control guidance, and effectively manage stock levels.

Job responsibilities

• Clean designated areas to the highest possible standard.
• Review implemented schedules to meet the needs of the independent wards and hospital wide.
• Be dynamic and flexible to support the business and the continuous regulatory changes to maintain safety and infection control measures.
• Order materials and equipment in line with monthly budgets from designated suppliers.
• Follow infection control guidance and complete the local infection control audit.
• Use all chemicals and machinery in line with departmental procedures, Health and Safety regulations and manufacturer's instructions.
• Effectively manage stock levels and replenish janitorial products.
• Operate a documented housekeeping programme that is auditable.
• Provide support, guidance and supervision, whilst monitoring the recruitment and performance reviews to ensure continuity of services and facilities.
• Support the senior management team in ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and set up systems for cleaning schedules and staffing rosters.

Qualifications and experience

• CosHH training.
• Knowledge of cleaning industry standards.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety.
• Previous experience of cleaning within a similar environment.
• Enjoy cleaning and derive satisfaction from a job well done.
• Be able to prioritise duties and responsibilities effectively.
• Good communicator.
• High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
