Job Description

As a foundational engineering hire, you will build and scale a modern risk intelligence platform. Working closely with the Director of Engineering, you will design robust backend services and manage AWS infrastructure to process high-volume intelligence feeds. You will play a pivotal role in shaping engineering practices and mentoring the team during our transition from Seed to Series A.

What you will do

• Design and build performant TypeScript/Node.js and Python services that ingest and serve real-time intelligence at scale.
• Own and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring secure, cost-effective, and production-ready deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
• Help define engineering practices, mentor new hires, and contribute to high-level architectural strategy as the team grows.

The ideal candidate

• 5+ years of backend development experience with deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and Python in a startup environment.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production AWS infrastructure including ECS, Lambda, and RDS using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Strong communicator who enjoys technical leadership and has a track record of building scalable systems and data pipelines.
