We have been operating as a psychotherapy training institute since 1987 and pride ourselves in supporting students to achieve their goals in learning and developing through counselling and psychotherapy training. The Institute has over 30 years' experience providing professional training in Psychotherapy and Counselling across a range of levels including Introductory, BSc and MSc programmes.

Our degree courses are validated by Staffordshire University and accredited by BACP (BSc programme) and UKCP (MSc programmes).

If you are a passionate Integrative Psychotherapist and trainer, we are now looking to recruit a Lead Facilitator for MSc Integrative Psychotherapy.

Job Title: Lead Facilitator - MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy

Location: This Post is based at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, 2 Castle Quay, Castle Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 1FW. Training delivery will take place at this location and at our nearby building in Nottingham City Centre.

Hours: Part-time; individually negotiated with the Programme Leader/Director of Training on an annual basis.

Fees: £25 per hour

Employment Status: Self-employed

Accountability: Managerially accountable to Programme Leader.

Liaises with: Programme Leader and Team colleagues; course administrators.

Role Summary

The Lead Facilitator supports the MINT Programme Leader in the delivery, coordination, and development of the MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy. The role combines academic leadership, student support, and operational responsibility, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the programme.

Contractor Status - Advantages of Self-Employment

This role is offered on a self-employed basis, providing the Lead Facilitator with a high degree of professional autonomy and flexibility. As a contractor, you will:

  • Operate independently and manage your own schedule within agreed programme parameters.
  • Be responsible for your own tax, insurance, and professional supervision.
  • Have the option to provide a suitably qualified substitute to deliver services, subject to prior agreement.
  • Invoice SPTI for services rendered, based on mutually agreed terms.
  • Enjoy the freedom to accept or decline assignments, with no obligation for continuous work.

This structure supports a collaborative relationship while ensuring compliance with IR35 regulations.
