Job Description
Lead Mechanical Engineer Data Centre Project Denmark

Elite Talent Hub are currently working with a leading international engineering contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Denmark.

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can take ownership of mechanical engineering and commissioning delivery across a fast-paced, technically demanding mission critical environment. The role sits at the centre of project delivery from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning, testing, and final handover. It would suit someone who enjoys responsibility, technical problem solving, and leading teams on complex projects where quality, sequencing, and delivery are critical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical engineering function across the full project lifecycle including design, procurement, installation, commissioning, testing, and handover
  • Manage and mentor mechanical engineering teams across multiple work packages
  • Oversee commissioning activities including flushing, balancing, pressure testing, FATs, SATs, walkdowns, and system handover
  • Coordinate closely with Electrical and CSA teams to ensure integration across all systems
  • Drive EHS compliance and promote safe systems of work across site activities
  • Manage technical submittals, RFIs, design changes, deviations, and quality processes
  • Support procurement activities including RFQs, technical evaluations, equipment selection, and vendor coordination
  • Monitor programme sequencing, identify project risks early, and implement mitigation plans
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide clear reporting and technical leadership to senior project and business teams
Key Requirements
  • Strong senior-level Mechanical Engineering experience on large-scale construction projects
  • Previous experience within data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, mission critical, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Strong commissioning and mechanical systems knowledge
  • Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project delivery
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, commissioning procedures, and technical documentation
  • Ability to lead in high-pressure, fast-paced project environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Practical and solutions-focused mindset with strong technical decision-making ability
  • Comfortable working closely with clients, consultants, and construction teams
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred
