Job Description

Job Title: Lead Engineer

Location: London

Corporate Title: Vice President

You will play a key role in transforming the Rates and Credit Fixed Income technology landscape. As part of our multi-year platform modernization project, you will be responsible for building a suite of new, real-time, high-performance applications supporting various trading workflows.

You will be involved in architecting solutions across the stack, encouraging best practices, and working closely with business stakeholders to build a maintainable, operationally efficient, and scalable platform for the future.

Your key responsibilities
  • Develop modern, real-time, high-performance micro-services for core trading workflows
  • Design end-to-end solutions in collaboration with front-end engineers
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful features
  • Promote engineering best practices in distributed systems, testing, CI/CD, and code quality
  • Contribute to platform modernization and influence technology direction
Your skills and experience
  • Experience building complex, high-performance Java applications (Kotlin experience is a bonus)
  • Expertise in modern front-end tools (e.g., vite, nx, playwright)
  • Experience with low-latency, event-driven UIs using WebSockets, SSE, Rx
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Proficiency in RESTful APIs, SQL, relational databases, and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
