The Harbour Hospital in Poole is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join our Maintenance Department team.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week.

The successful candidate must reside in or near the area, as the position is based at the hospital.

Duties of this role include:

  • The provision of engineering maintenance and breakdown support to the hospital.
  • Management and reporting of R & M budgets, reviewing and commenting as appropriate.
  • Management of environment and energy reduction initiatives.
  • Providing competent technical, health, safety, and environmental support & assistance to EDs, hospital managers, project managers, and minor works managers.
  • Collaborating with the senior leadership team to develop and implement management tools necessary for facility operations.
  • Liaising with the Regional Engineering Manager and Hospital Operations Manager on engineering issues.
  • Covering cluster sites to meet on-call requirements.
  • Attending regional/cluster meetings and training courses as required.
  • Supporting sites within your cluster during holidays, sickness, vacancies, or for general support.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • CSCS or ECS card (if electrically qualified) at the appropriate level.
  • Proven experience in engineering maintenance, preferably within a hospital or similar critical environment.
  • Experience in team leadership, task allocation, and performance management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation, including risk management, fire safety, and Legionella prevention.
  • Strong fault-finding, organizational, and communication skills.
