We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Lead Engineer - Configuration Management Information Systems (CMIS), to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.

To own and lead the integration and implementation of our engineering software application tools, and wider business process solution and ensure integration with other company applications (E.g. RM, ERP) and processes, to enable digital functionality within Rolls-Royce SMR. The programme aims to leverage digital technology to efficiently and robustly design, analyse, optimise and deliver the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station.

Key Results & What can be achieved in the role
  • Define and manage the integration of our business process solution (process, roles, tools & data) across engineering and interfacing teams.
  • Act as a Process Integration Lead, to ensure that our processes and capability delivery projects are planned and integrated effectively.
  • Work with the Business Process Leads to ensure cross-functional alignment and solution integration.
  • Collaborate across our engineering functions and the wider business to gather, author and analyse business requirements and use cases for developing, maintaining and integrating our engineering software tools and processes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, gap analysis, and software integration assessments.
  • Lead and manage the integration of capability delivery projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the business during software implementation, configuration and integration.
  • Perform software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting to ensure successful solution deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Participate in the product down-selection process.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in engineering software technologies and provide recommendations for process improvements and toolset enhancements.
  • Provide training material (and share knowledge) to internal and external teams.
  • Foster a culture of digital adoption and continuous improvement across engineering teams.

Key Selection Criteria

Proven practical experience in working with engineering systems and tools:
  • BIM Common Data Environment (e.g. Bentley ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Asite )
  • Requirements Management systems (e.g. Siemens Polarion , IBM DOORS etc.)
Proven practical IT knowledge of:
  • Software implementation, demonstrating best practices, and configuration techniques
  • Experience with system integration, data migration, and legacy system coexistence in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) projects.
Demonstrate project delivery within a demanding environment through:
  • An ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of agile processes.
  • Able to self-manage within a changing environment with proven project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Proven experience integrating business process solutions across people, process, tools, and data.
  • Experience defining and managing the integration of business process solutions across interfacing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to align digital toolsets with business process requirements and organisational roles.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and change management in complex engineering environments.

Pay and benefits We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE plus:-
  • Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
  • Benefits Allowance - £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
