Lead Edge AI Engineer Location:Remote (Must be based in NA) $200,000 - $300,000 + equity

We're working with a venture-backed technology company buildingfoundational infrastructure for an edge-first AI world- where intelligence runs directly on devices, vehicles, robots, and satellites, not in distant cloud data centers.

Their mission is to make edge-native AIprivate, verifiable, collaborative, and resilient by design. Instead of centralized control, they're enabling AI systems that can train, adapt, and operate across distributed environments - even when the cloud is unavailable.

This is deep, systems-level work at the intersection ofedge computing, AI infrastructure, and distributed systems, backed by real-world deployments rather than prototypes or slide decks.

AsLead Edge AI Engineer, you'll own the edge-AI engineering roadmap and help define how AI is developed, deployed, and verified across decentralized environments.

You'll design and build systems that enable:

• On-device inference and local training
• Federated and collaborative learning across devices
• Adaptive compute pipelines on heterogeneous hardware

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role with real influence over architecture, standards, and developer experience.

What You'll Do

• Architect and prototypeedge-AI pipelinesfor training, inference, and cross-device collaboration
• Builddeveloper-facing APIs and SDKsthat hide distributed complexity behind elegant abstractions
• Optimize performance acrossconstrained and diverse hardware(GPUs, NPUs, embedded accelerators)
• Integrate AI workloads withprivacy-preserving and verifiable computation frameworks
• Partner closely with product, research, and infrastructure teams to shape the edge-AI developer experience
• Mentor engineers and help define a culture focused onprecision, performance, and trust

What We're Looking For

• Deep experience deployingAI/ML systems in real-world edge environments
• Strong proficiency inRust, Go, C++, or Python
• Solid understanding ofdistributed systems, federated learning, or privacy-preserving AI
• Experience working withedge compute constraints and hardware runtimes
• Background in astartup or scale-upenvironment
• Proven track record delivering complex systemsend-to-end
• Strong curiosity aroundverifiable computing, zero-trust architectures, and data-centric AI
• First-principles thinker who wants to build infrastructure that lasts decades
