Job Description

Lead Azure Cloud Architect

Location: The Hague (1 day per week Onsite)

Full-time permanent and Freelance Contract available

(Dutch speaking)

€130,000 - 140,000 + Bonus & package


Overview:


Here at Anson McCade we are working with a leading consulting client to hire an experienced Lead Cloud Architect Netherlands. Our client strive to deliver real value through large-scale digital transformation programmes across both public and private sectors. They're at the forefront of cloud, DevOps, and automation, supporting critical national infrastructure, healthcare systems, and financial services with secure, scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will be Dutch speaking and have a strong background working in IT consultancies.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering best practices in cloud architecture and automation.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions with Azure
  • Define and execute Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies using Terraform or Bicep
  • Oversee Kubernetes-based architectures (AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift) for containerized workloads.
  • Implement cloud security best practices, identity access management, and governance models.
  • Drive DevSecOps adoption, ensuring security, automation, and observability are built into cloud platforms.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to align cloud strategy with business objectives.
  • Optimize cloud environments using FinOps and modern operations tooling



The ideal Cloud Architect will have:


  • A strong background in cloud architecture and enterprise-scale transformation projects.
  • Expertise in Azure cloud services (GCP or AWS exp. beneficial)
  • Leadership experience, with a proven ability to guide teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes (AKS), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking.
  • Experience working in Agile, DevSecOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environments.
  • Cloud certifications in Azure (highly desirable).
