Cardiff is a vibrant and growing city, and we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Neighbourhood Services Enforcement Team as a Lead Case Officer. Our team is committed to delivering excellent service to Cardiff's residents and visitors, ensuring high standards in environmental enforcement and case management.

About the job

As Lead Case Officer, you will provide comprehensive case management and support for Environmental Enforcement. You will oversee case officer workflows, ensure the efficient processing of enforcement case files and prosecutions, and maintain accurate records and audit trails. The role involves working closely with the litigation team and various departments, managing data input and retrieval, and supporting team members with administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee case officers' workflows, case files, and documentation.
  • Ensure effective communication and dissemination of accurate information to team members.
  • Direct case management, including processing of notices, reminders, and follow-ups.
  • Process letters, reports, and transcripts, and manage data input and retrieval.
  • Conduct stocktaking and audit checks as required.
  • Implement and maintain an effective record management system.
  • Support team members with general administrative duties.
  • Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures, maintaining the Council's reputation through a professional and courteous approach.
What We Are Looking For From You
  • Experience with integrated record management systems and administrative processes.
  • Ability to lead audits, ensuring accuracy of data input and case management.
  • Experience in direct line management and working with databases, spreadsheets, and other software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and robust personal attributes.
