On behalf of Tesco IMS, AMS are now looking for a Lead Business Analyst/Product Owner for a 6 Month contract based Remotely.

The Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Business Analyst /Product Owner to lead the design, development, and delivery of API solutions that enable seamless integration across our digital ecosystem. This hybrid role combines strategic product ownership with hands-on business analysis to ensure our API platform meets business needs, enhances interoperability, and supports scalable growth.

Responsibilties:

  • Define and own the API product backlog, aligning with business objectives and technology strategy.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, feasibility, and stakeholder input.
  • Act as the voice of the customer for API consumers, ensuring usability and developer experience.
  • Gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for API development.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design API specifications, JSON, XML, Postman testing will be helpful (REST, SOAP, etc.).
  • Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and API contracts for development teams.
  • Ensure compliance with security, performance, and governance standards.
  • Strong experience in JIRA, API Data Dictionary management, Confluence and SharePoint

Agile & Scrum Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Participate in Scrum ceremonies:
    • Sprint Planning - Define priorities and clarify backlog items.
    • Daily Stand-ups - Provide updates and unblock development teams.
    • Sprint Reviews - Demonstrate completed API features and gather feedback.
    • Retrospectives - Collaborate on process improvements.
  • Maintain a refined backlog and ensure stories are ready for development.
  • Serve as the bridge between Product Manager, business stakeholders and Scrum team, ensuring alignment and transparency.

Delivery & Quality:

  • Work closely with Scrum teams to ensure timely delivery of API features.
  • Validate API functionality through testing and documentation reviews.
  • Monitor API adoption and performance, driving continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Lead Business Analyst in API-focused projects.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful services, JSON, OAuth, and API life cycle management.
  • Familiarity with API management platforms (eg, Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including leading or facilitating ceremonies.
  • Ability to bridge business needs and technical implementation effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with developer portals and API monetization strategies.
  • Certification in Product Ownership (CSPO) or Business Analysis (CBAP).
  • Familiarity with Scrum Master responsibilities is a plus
