Place Services is a multi-disciplinary consultancy within Essex County Council (ECC) that provides environmental and planning services to the Council, local authorities, and other public bodies. Our mission is to support the public sector in delivering sustainable development.

The Landscape Consultant Role

The Landscape Consultant will deliver landscape services to our clients across Essex and England. Responsibilities include advising on landscape matters, providing development management and policy advice to local authorities, evaluating and delivering landscape assessments and LVIA, developing landscape strategies, design guides, and codes, as well as landscape design and management. The role also involves advising on design review, preparing design briefs, and undertaking supervised specialist tasks within multidisciplinary projects.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified, experienced subject matter expert with strong technical expertise, practical knowledge of landscape design and management, and familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, standards, and guidance. Excellent client relationship, communication, and information management skills are essential.
