Brief DescriptionCH65 0AE We're looking for a motivated, hands on individual to join our dental laboratory team as a Dental Laboratory Apprentice. This is a fantastic entry route into dental technology, a career combining craftsmanship, science and digital design to create high quality dental appliances that improve patients' lives.
Qualifications RequiredGCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.
Personal Qualities- Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule
- Writing and numeracy skills
- Familiarity with computers / keyboards / typing skills
- Word, Excel, Access - statistics, graphs, data analysis
- General awareness of importance of safety, and in particular safety issues of working in a laboratory

Laboratory Technician Level 3
Future ProspectsBecause of the technical experience you will gain from working in a laboratory, you will gain skills which many graduates have yet to develop. If you have practical ability, ability to solve problems and good communication skills there are opportunities for progression towards higher qualifications.
About the roleAs a Dental Lab Apprentice, you will learn how to create and finish dental appliances used by patients every day. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and gain practical, industry recognised skills in a professional laboratory environment.
Key duties include- Assisting with the preparation of dental models and casts
- Trimming, shaping and polishing dental appliances
- Supporting the production of crowns, bridges, dentures and orthodontic appliances
- Learning to follow dental prescriptions and technical instructions
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure accuracy and finish
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and health & safety
- Developing skills in modern dental technology (including digital techniques where applicable)
- A strong interest in healthcare, science, design or hands on work
- Good attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
- Basic IT skills
- GCSEs (or predicted grades) in Maths and English are preferred but not essential
- You will complete a recognised Dental Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship alongside your role
- Full training and support provided
- No previous dental experience required
