6.1.The Laboratory Assistant assists with the general housekeeping of the laboratory and performs administrative tasks.
6.2.Occasionally, able to assist overtime, including weekends.
ResponsibilitiesAdhere to all laboratory's policies, procedures and codes of practice for all activities assigned under the Quality Management System (QMS).
Receive, access and handle samples following procedures as defined in the specific role.
Maintain clean, orderly and safe work environment, including laboratory cleaning and maintenance activities.
Perform concurrent data entry with focus on data integrity, maintaining Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Assist with the maintenance and record keeping of the following laboratory activities:
- Recording of temperatures
- Removal of trash
- Removal of clinical waste
- Assist with general lab cleaning and general housekeeping
- Assist with logging in of deliveries
- Assist with scanning and archiving records where applicable
Attend and participate in lab meetings.
Attend training, including Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications- The Laboratory Assistant should hold a first undergraduate degree in Life Sciences
- The qualifications should reflect appropriate education and training background for the skills needed to perform the tasks of a senior laboratory scientist.
