Lab Technician - Salmonella

Have you completed a Scientific Degree? Are you immediately available and looking to gain some experience in a Lab Based Role?

A UKAS accredited provider of Microbiological testing are seeking a Lab Technician to join them at their lab near Wem, Shropshire, on a Temp-to-Perm basis. The lab predominantly conduct salmonella testing for poultry.

Start Date ASAP , ideally w/c 19/10/26

Temp-to-Perm. Full-time (40 hours per week Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00). £12.71ph.

Role Overview

• Assistive duties to support the microbiology lab.
• Sample receipt, registration and preparation including plating and staining.
• Packaging and despatch of samples for external analysis.
• Analysis and testing of samples using Microbiological, Biochemical and Serological techniques.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Graduates of a relevant scientific discipline who have developed Lab Skills during their course will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Prior working Lab experience, particularly in a Microbiology Lab , or working to ISO17025 is highly advantageous.
• Must be available to begin immediately on site near Wem, Shropshire.
