Job Description

Contract: IT Lab Support Engineer

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Location: Lyngby, 5 days a week onsite
Rate: Negotiable

Role Summary:

Objective: This role will ensure friction-free executive experiences, unblock engineering workflows, and maintain compliance in sensitive lab environments

Day-to-Day Activities:

Systems & server support

  • Perform regular system health checks, backups, and performance tuning
  • Pull back files and footage from 'cold-storage' as needed
  • Implement automated cleanup routines and asset archiving processes
  • Ensure systems are scalable for future XR/interactive module workloads

User account/device management/IT onboarding contact

  • Serve as the primary user account holder on shared devices across the internal program
  • Regularly audit device access and update policies to align with enterprise and program security standards
  • Manage user provisioning, permissions, and access control
  • Support device imaging, updates, and life cycle management
  • Provide IT support specific to design workflow (ie, troubleshooting Adobe SSO known-issue, large file transfers)

Cleanroom (Quantum fabrication) IT & tool support

  • Serve as the primary IT contact for cleanroom tools (lithography, deposition, etch, metrology) and their control PCs
  • Segment and secure the fab network (VLANs/ACLs), manage Firewalls, and provide audited vendor remote access
  • Harden, image, and life cycle-manage instrument PCs; coordinate OS patches/AV with tool vendors
  • Onboard monitoring and alerting for tool and facility telemetry
  • Specify, procure, and maintain cleanroom-rated, low-particulate, ESD-safe hardware (fanless PCs, sealed keyboards/monitors) and glove-friendly input devices
  • Plan and execute controlled software/firmware changes on tools with documented testing, rollback plans, and compatibility matrices
  • Administer access control for tool logins and cleanroom doors/badging; maintain SOPs, and audit logs
  • Backup/DR for tool PCs, recipes, and process data; regularly test restores and keep offline copies; support KVM-over-IP for remote diagnostics and after-hours troubleshooting
  • Liaise with tool vendors to triage issues and schedule service windows; track RMAs, spares, and end-of-life/compatibility risks
