KS2 Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Rotherham)

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (term-time only)
Salary: Dependant on experience
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a motivated and caring Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Rotherham. This role involves supporting pupils in Years 3-6, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will play a key role in delivering engaging learning experiences and providing targeted support where needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning across KS2 (Years 3-6)
  • Work with individuals and small groups to support literacy and numeracy development
  • Assist in delivering planned interventions and booster sessions
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2
  • Has good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum (especially English and Maths)
  • Is patient, supportive, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Is flexible, proactive, and able to use initiative
  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) or equivalent experience
