We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to join our Nurse Manager team within the Specialist Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Service.
Our service delivers inpatient and specialist mental health and learning disability care across three Health and Social Care Partnerships. This post will be primarily based at Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen, and forms a key leadership role within the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities portfolio.
Under the leadership of the Lead Nurse, the Nurse Manager team provides professional, operational and strategic leadership to nursing teams across the service. The role requires a leader who is committed to advancing high quality, person centred and trauma informed care.
Responsibilities- Provide visible, compassionate and values based clinical leadership, ensuring nursing practice reflects the highest standards of safety, quality and professionalism.
- Champion consistent, equitable, high quality care in line with national mental health standards, reducing unwarranted variation across services.
- Advocate strongly for staff and patients, ensuring their voices influence service improvement and that care is shaped around individual needs and experiences.
- Demonstrate the ability to motivate, influence and support teams through transformation and system wide change.
- Contribute to creating the conditions for mental health and learning disability nursing to flourish, supporting professional development, learning opportunities and a sustainable workforce.
- Role model trauma informed, recovery focused approaches, ensuring care environments promote dignity, respect and therapeutic engagement.
- Support our ongoing journey toward Pathway to Excellence, helping build a nursing culture that prioritises wellbeing, excellence and continuous improvement.
- Be educated to degree level.
- Be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD).
- Have significant experience in mental health or learning disability settings, with evidence of leadership capability and service improvement.
All Nurse Managers participate in the on call rota, including some weekend working, to support safe and consistent leadership across services.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
