A Kitchen Porter is required for a permanent role at an independent school in Cirencester. This position offers predictable daytime hours, with no weekend commitments and school holiday breaks. Your primary duties involve maintaining high cleanliness standards across all kitchen and dining spaces, operating the dishwasher, and efficiently handling pots, pans, and utensils. You will also assist chefs with basic food preparation, manage waste disposal, and uphold strict hygiene regulations. The role suits someone with a strong work ethic and reliability, supporting smooth service during lunch service. The position includes four weeks of holiday pay. Key Responsibilities- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen, washing-up, and dining areas.
- Operate the dishwasher and wash pots, pans, utensils, and crockery efficiently.
- Assist the chef team with basic food preparation and stocking kitchen supplies.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are strictly met.
- Support smooth service during lunch and afternoon school meal times.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, supportive attitude.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is a plus, but full training will be provided.
