Job Description
Kitchen Manager Role Overview 
We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to lead a busy kitchen within an educational setting. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, efficient food service while promoting healthy, balanced meals and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities as a Kitchen Manager- Manage the day-to day catering operation, including staff, food production, and service delivery
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and all statutory requirements
- Plan menus, manage stock, and oversee ordering, storage, and portion control
- Prepare and supervise the delivery of nutritious meals in line with national standards
- Monitor and control budgets, including costs, income, and waste
- Lead, train, and support catering staff, including rota management
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and HACCP procedures
- Keep accurate records of stock, wastage, and performance
- Carry out quality checks and implement improvements
- Promote the service through themed menus and initiatives to increase uptake
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies
- Support a positive, inclusive environment
- Attend relevant meetings and training as required
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen management role
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Good knowledge of food safety and nutritional standards
- Ability to manage budgets and work efficiently under pressure
