As a Kitchen Assistant at MoE CPK in Hawke's Bay, you'll assist with the preparation, reheating, and dispatch of meals for schools, ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards. This hands on role involves working in a fast paced environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential. This is a Permanent position with guaranteed hours of a minimum 6 hours per week during the school terms. Shifts start 4.00 am, so this would be ideal for early starters.
Responsibilities- Receive and store delivered meals, monitor temperatures, and ensure HACCP compliance.
- Prepare and reheat meals according to safety and quality standards.
- Pack and dispatch meals for delivery to schools.
- Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas, including equipment and waste management.
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating as required.
- A team player with a flexible, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Physically fit, reliable, and able to work autonomously when required.
- Good communication skills and commitment to food safety practices.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage.
- NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) desirable.
- A valid and full Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence, a clean police check, and the ability to work unsupervised.
