Job Description
Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant at Rosebery Manor Care Home in Epsom, you will support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality comprehensive service is delivered to residents. Responsibilities include safe food handling, teamwork, advising on supply and quality of items, and maintaining respectful interactions with residents and visitors.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for safe production of beverages and meals.
  • Understand the principles of safe food handling to meet highest hygiene standards.
  • Contribute actively to teamwork, respond positively to colleagues and complete work instructions promptly.
  • Advising on the supply and quality of items to ensure timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
  • Act accordingly towards residents and visitors, respecting dignity and individuality.
About you
  • Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Have knowledge of Health and Safety, especially Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
  • Be an efficient worker capable of high level of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a positive, flexible attitude towards team working.
  • Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.
Requirements
  • A DBS Disclosure check, paid by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
Qualifications
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • High standards of personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH.
  • Efficient, physically capable, flexible, initiative driven and caring attitude.

Salary
