Kitchen Assistant

Role Summary

Supporting the kitchen team with the daily meals services carrying out range of duties as set out below to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining area.

Days and times

Weekdays (Mon-Fri) - 09.00am - 2.00pm

Role Requirements

Volunteers in the kitchen must be able to work as part of a team. Long hair should be tied back, nail varnish should not be worn in the kitchen area and strong perfumes should be avoided. Jewellery should be kept to a minimum and shoes should be non-slip.

Duties and responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety and infection control standards including use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Complete in-house food hygiene training (Safer food, better business)
• Soaking pans and plates
• Operate industrial dishwasher machine
• Set dining room tables for daily lunch service
• Stock up condiments
• Take the trolley to the nurse's station on the ward.
• Bring the dirty trolley back to the kitchen
• Assist the kitchen team with any tasks that they need help with on the day
