Job Description

As a Kitchen Assistant with Rushcliffe Care Group, you will be part of a team responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, high quality catering services. Your role will have a direct impact on the wellbeing, nutrition, and overall experience of the service users you support. About the Service

Jasmine Court Care Home (LE11 1EU) is a 66 bed nursing facility providing specialist care for adults living with dementia and other complex needs. Our home offers a safe, compassionate, and homely environment where service users are treated with dignity and respect. Our team works closely with service users and their families to deliver personalised, person centred care that promotes independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

The catering team plays an important role in supporting health, wellbeing, and daily routines, ensuring service users receive safe, nutritious, and appropriate meals.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the preparation, cooking, and service of meals, ensuring all duties are carried out safely and in line with food hygiene and organisational standards.

You will assist with basic food preparation, including salads, sandwiches, and vegetable preparation, as well as supporting simple cooking tasks where required.

The role includes maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up, cleaning surfaces, and following cleaning schedules to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

You will support with stock handling, including receiving, checking, storing, and rotating supplies, helping to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise waste.

You will also assist in serving meals and working alongside care teams to support a positive mealtime experience for service users.

About You

You have a basic understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices, or are willing to learn.

You are able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and support others to maintain standards.

You are reliable, organised, and able to work in a fast paced environment.

You take pride in maintaining cleanliness and supporting a safe working environment.

You communicate clearly and understand the importance of your role within a care setting.
