Job Description

Lead strategic partnerships and drive growth-become the Key Account Manager shaping success across national retail channels.

Proclinical is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead and manage relationships with national grocery, high street, and discount customers. This role focuses on driving strategic account leadership, team management, cross-functional collaboration, and market innovation. You will play a pivotal role in delivering sales targets, fostering team performance, and contributing to the overall growth of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage relationships with key retail partners, acting as the senior escalation point for customer issues and opportunities.
  • Oversee the execution of Joint Business Plans (JBPs), Cost Price Increases (CPIs), and commercial contracts across accounts.
  • Deliver annual sales targets and revenue growth objectives while ensuring accurate forecasting and budget management.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to support brand growth, distribution expansion, and commercial performance.
  • Negotiate trade terms and pricing strategies to ensure mutual value and long-term growth.
  • Line manage and develop a team of Key Account Managers, fostering a collaborative and high performing culture.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, trade marketing, and customer solutions, to achieve business goals.
  • Represent the team in senior commercial forums and contribute to strategic decision making.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy and identify new opportunities.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement in account management practices.
Key Skills and Requirements
  • Experience in national account management within FMCG or OTC sectors.
  • Proven success in leading negotiations and managing UK retailer accounts.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, commercial, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast paced environment.
