Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef at Rockwater will support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in delivering top quality food while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and cost control.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in day to day kitchen management, ensuring efficient workflow and timely food production.
  • Run busy sections and cook food to Rockwater specifications.
  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Prepare, cook and present dishes to maintain high quality and consistency.
  • Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control and presentation standards.
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Ensure all dishes meet the required standard in taste, appearance and portion size.
  • Monitor and address guest feedback, working with Senior Chefs to make necessary adjustments.
  • Work closely with Senior Chefs to implement cost control measures, such as portion control and waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure smooth overall operations.
  • Comply with legal requirements under the Health & Safety Act 1974 and food hygiene standards.
  • Train new chefs and kitchen porters.
Ideal Candidate
  • At least 1 year experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor in a premium high volume venue.
  • Experienced in managing large teams.
