Junior Service Technician (Electronics)



Location:

Oxford, Oxfordshire



Salary:

£30,000-£34,000 per annum



Hours:

Monday-Friday Days, 40 hours/week

Full-time, Permanent



The Client:

A global leader in environmental monitoring and instrumentation solutions is expanding its Service Department and seeking a Service Technician to be trained and developed within the Particle Counter and Electronic industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands on experience or a base understanding in calibration, diagnostics, and repair of precision instruments or electronics down to a component level looking to pursue a career in a rapidly expanding industry.



The Package:

  • Monday-Friday schedule (40 hours/week)

  • 20-25% travel to customer sites and regional offices

The Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on instrumentation and particle counters

  • Analyse service data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions

  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation

  • Communicate technical issues and resolutions to internal teams

  • Report recurring service trends to support product development

  • Provide on-site service support as required (20-25% travel)



The Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in technical service, instrumentation, or electronics

  • Proficiency in Electronic Testing, Boards, PCB assembly

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics

  • Familiarity with electronic components and basic repair techniques

  • Eagerness to learn develop and grow long term, participate in training and development when necessary.

  • Educated to a minimum of a NVQ Level 3 or Degree in a relevant field

  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office and service tracking software

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective communicator across technical and non technical teams

  • Associate degree or vocational training in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent hands on experience)

  • Full UK License
