Junior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Cullompton
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000
We're recruiting for a growing engineering manufacturer who are looking to bring in a Junior Mechanical Engineer / Machine Build Engineer to support their factory build team.
This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering career with strong mechanical skills and some electrical understanding, who enjoys hands on work and wants to develop within machine design and build.
You'll be involved in the assembly, fitting, and commissioning of bespoke machinery, working closely with experienced engineers from concept through to completion.
The role:- Mechanical assembly and build of new machinery
- Fitting components; pipework, guards, drives and mechanisms
- Assisting with basic electrical wiring, sensors, motors and panels
- Supporting machine testing and commissioning
- Reading engineering drawings and build specs
- Working alongside senior engineers to learn full machine build processes
- Mechanical engineering background (apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC or similar)
- Some electrical awareness (not looking for a qualified electrician)
- Experience or interest in machine build / assembly
- Practical, hands on approach
- Keen to learn and progress
- Reliable team player
- £32-35k depending on experience
- Factory based role (no site travel)
- Training and mentoring from experienced engineers
- Long term progression into senior build or commissioning roles
