About the National Audit OfficeThe National Audit Office (NAO) is the UK's main public sector audit body. We report directly to Parliament through the Committee of Public Accounts of the House of Commons. The organisation employs approx. 1,000 people, mostly qualified accountants, trainees, or technicians, and operates with two service lines: financial audit and value for money (VFM) audit with strong corporate teams.
