Job Description

The Junior Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for the Accounting & Finance department.
  • Manage and monitor budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide support for audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Assist in implementing financial controls and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Managing accounting records, including issuing of customer invoices and processing of supplier bills
  • Processing journals for deferral of revenue, and costs according to revenue recognition criteria for various business verticals; payroll, accruals/prepayments, FX revaluations for client deposits / revenue recognition
  • Preparing financial reports and management accounts at group consolidated level
  • Monitoring internal controls and expenditure
  • Assisting monitor compliance with regulations
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements
  • Analysing financial / non-financial data
  • Assisting with statutory audit inquiries and responses
  • Ensuring accuracy of financial information
  • Participating in budgeting process
  • Managing financial transactions, and strict controls around payments, and expense cards
  • Working capital management (cash flow evaluation & projections)
The Successful Applicant

A successful Junior Financial Controller should have:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in financial reporting and budgeting within a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • The candidate should come from the Travel and Tourism industry
  • The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in London.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
