Job Description
The Junior Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for the Accounting & Finance department.
- Manage and monitor budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide support for audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Assist in implementing financial controls and processes to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments within the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Managing accounting records, including issuing of customer invoices and processing of supplier bills
- Processing journals for deferral of revenue, and costs according to revenue recognition criteria for various business verticals; payroll, accruals/prepayments, FX revaluations for client deposits / revenue recognition
- Preparing financial reports and management accounts at group consolidated level
- Monitoring internal controls and expenditure
- Assisting monitor compliance with regulations
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements
- Analysing financial / non-financial data
- Assisting with statutory audit inquiries and responses
- Ensuring accuracy of financial information
- Participating in budgeting process
- Managing financial transactions, and strict controls around payments, and expense cards
- Working capital management (cash flow evaluation & projections)
A successful Junior Financial Controller should have:
- A degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in financial reporting and budgeting within a professional environment.
- Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- The candidate should come from the Travel and Tourism industry
- The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in London.
