Junior Finance Manager - TV/Film
International award winning TV & Film documentary production company are seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Junior Finance Manager to join their finance team.
This is a critical role that provides financial insight, drives performance, and supports strategic decision-making across the business. You will assist on the preparation of monthly management accounts, assist with payroll, forecasting, and variance analysis, as well as business partnering with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the Finance Coordinator regarding AP and AR across the corporate entity, ensuring timely payments and correct account code allocations throughout. Willing to provide cover with AP/AR in busy periods.
Complete month end processes in the ledgers, including bank reconciliations, production recharges, accrual, prepayments and depreciation. Ensuring the balance sheet codes are reviewed and accurate at each month end.
Work closely with numerous production accountants to ensure recharges are accurate and up to date and deal with ad hoc queries that may arise.
Work with the development team to manage all production development cost managers, ensuring all invoices are accounted for and paid in a timely manner and the estimated cost to complete is correct with actuals.
Responsible for all VAT submissions within the corporate entities and confirmation statements submissions across both the corporate and production entities.
Setting up bank accounts and SPV entities for commissioned productions ensuring timely setup. Additionally, coordinating with production accountants to close SPVs down when complete.
Creating new processes and month end reporting for new reporting requirements.
Assist in processing monthly payroll
Mentor and support junior finance team members as needed.
Contribute to system and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Assist with the monthly management accounts pack that is presented to stakeholders including investors.
Complete the monthly SPV consolidation, ensuring corporate AR is in line with other companies AP, matching loans and month end has been completed by the production accountants.
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
Experience in TV / Media production.
Proven experience in a similar management accounting role.
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
Advanced Excel skills: experience with Xero is desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
Proactive, commercially minded, and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
Exposure to business partnering and cross-functional collaboration.
Previous involvement in process improvement or transformation projects.
